When acting with ego, or say even a knife, determining good or bad results depends on our choice of utilization. A knife can be used to murder, or save a life when used as a scalpel during surgery, and similarly an active ego also can yield either good or bad results. Just the existence alone of a knife or an ego is not inherently good or bad, but rather it's the knowledge and intent behind the wielding a knife or ego, which determines positive or negative reactions.
Karma is an ancient sanskrit word which literally means work, or action which fuels reaction. Karma-action-work can have good, bad or spiritual results. Helpful or harmful actions create equivalent reactions returning in time to be enjoyed or suffered by the performer on the plane of material manifestation and duality. Spiritual work-action-activities bring spiritual results which are beyond the duality of future good and bad rewards in this world, and also lead to spiritual liberation in the present and future, from all materialistic and karmic entanglements.
Spiritual activities are many and revolve around giving and receiving unconditional acts of love meant to please and serve God, who resides in each heart as the infallible witness. We just have to smash a self-centered vision of reality, and replace it with expanded knowledge of God-centered truth; that we are all parts and parcels of the Supreme Absolute Truth, on a mission to love.
When we experience the joy of acting from our spiritual ego, decisions and actions previously based on selfish fear and ignorance gradually evaporate, which allows our spiritual ego to actively and purely shine through, karma-free.
Beginning to see and feel God in everything and everywhere is part of our spiritual ego's birthright and joyous mission on earth. When breaking free from materialistic-ego-actions which reflect in karmic mirrors of temporary happiness and distress, a whole new world opens us for us to live in.
That new world opens within the heart fueled by spiritual-ego-actions such as singing holy hymns and mantras, silent and spoken prayer, meditation, and performing unconditional acts of loving service for God and others who are also God-particles.
These actions gradually result in experiencing something like an internal heaven in the heart even amidst mundane chaos, due to the spiritual ego being connected with God. All that is required is to smash material ego's vanities and misconceptions with spiritual knowledge and a surrendered heart. Daily spiritual practice and actions as simple as singing a holy prayer or name of God, entices the All-Knowing to mercifully and gradually reveal Himself from within our hearts. Sometimes it's required give something up, to make space for something far better.
All I could see was me
Well I take my spirit and smash my mirrors
Now the whole world is here for me see...
Broken glass was all in my head,
It used to follow my dreams and cut me in my bed...
....now I"m searching for my love to be.. Yeah
