76 years ago today, Allied Forces stormed the beaches in Normandy, France, to demonstrating the will to overcome a fascist regime which has spread in Western Europe. Clearly abusing it's sovereign power, one country violently overpowered and seized some of it's neighboring countries, acts of naked, unprovoked, and unchecked murderous  aggression. For the welfare of all countries, it had to be stopped. Within about a year it was, but not without a heavy price paid on both sides.

Today June 6, 2020 a type of D-Day continues.

Today in Los Angeles at 9 different locations, demonstrations are scheduled to protest the abuse of power, naked aggression by one person and allowed by others - that unlawfully killed an American citizen. It was carried out by a person vested with the power to protect and serve - but ended up as power that was tragically misused.

In America, to protest an abuse of power is not only a right as a freedom of speech and assembly within reason, but actually a responsibility of those living under a government of the people, for the people. As we know, such rights are not as freely enjoyed in other places such as Hong Kong, whose citizens have also been demonstrating for the their own perceived rights, facing harsh opposition and aggression.

Sovereignty is not just for countries - it's also for each individual person; an autonomy to choose and act upon one's own values, free from outside interference.

To speak one's truth, and act both individually and collectively to demonstrate one's truth is everyone's legal right in the USA and in many countries, provided such expression does not violate the rights of others.

Remembering that a random member of a professional group is not personally responsible for whatever another member of similar group may have done 2,000 miles away (think police in this case), is key to mutually respectful human interaction - just as one would not be not like to be automatically judged to be a looter for participating in a protest demonstration, even though some protests have devolved into looting in the past.

In any group made of individuals, a wide spectrum of mentally and actions have potential. Holding one's own sovereign space in the face provocations from opposing factors as well as one's own group, is really a personal battle we all face. Reaching out with respectful actions and dialog even in the midst of discord, could be the way to head into the future in harmony, instead of promoting divisiveness or violently pounding each other down to see who is left standing. Prejudice can be found on the lower end in any group spectrum; if anything is to be rightfully repressed, it is this.

War is hell, be it nationally, racially, politically, sexually, or emotionally fought, but sometimes a passion for justice is required. It is the terms of one's passionate engagement which matters.

It is the level of mutual respect in a passionate exchange, which differentiates acts of making peace/love from committing various forms of rape.  

We all want a kind, respectful and loving world - aside from the sociopaths, psychopaths and megalomaniacs who are questionably part of the human spectrum, who delight in chaos and death.

The demented delight in unnecessary violence and destruction and thereby will invoke that upon themselves in due course of time. The authority of time will carry out each sentence; it's not our job.

It is up to the rest of us to pick up the pieces a fragmented society and stand like a country of our own, where the values of love, compassion, equality and forgiveness are offered to all of those within the borders of our daily lives.

Maybe we all need to take a minute at some point and listen to some music of choice which soothes, heals and unites us, then get back to picking up the pieces of this crazy year, which ain't over yet.

It may not do it for everyone, but this song always made smile, even though i was mostly a rock guy as a youngster, during the days of social unrest in the late 60s-70s.

Peace in, and out!

Waking up this morning, the first thing I saw was something ordinary, yet extraordinary.

Of all the radiant sunlight which sustains our planet and reflects off of other celestial bodies, a small swatch of the sun's rays formed a square of light standing on it's corner in my darkened room.

In the Krishna Balaram Temple in Vrindavan, India, this divine painting portal reminds us that Sri Krishna is always smiling on us, waiting for us to return to Him, so that we can revive our eternal loving pastimes.

I noticed when walking by this temple wall painting, Krishna was kindly keeping me in His vision, as I walked from His far left to His far right side. God is the beginning and the end; the Alpha & Omega!

Sometimes God can appear in a fleeting form of square-shaped light splashed on a wall. He also appears as the ever-youthful form of divine bliss, embodied in living color as the Supreme Personality of Godhead. He is the same personality of Godhead who is seen as non-different from both His material and spiritual energies - by those whose eyes are tinged with the salve of divine love, and even to those practicing that vision.

The nature of the soul's expression was visibly revealed by Sri Krishna's latest incarnation as Lord Chaitanya (see March 2018 archive - An Ocean Of Mercy). He personified the mood of a devotee of God, longing to re-connect, then spontaneously engage in divine song and dance - directly in association with the Supreme Lord.

Whether in purity, or in a shadow state, each individual at some point seeks connection; union with another which takes on many shapes - both earth-bound and cosmic. As sparks of the divine, each of us have love to be expressed, which we realize in stages with each other to some degree - a loving propensity reaching perfection when including the  Source of all love, the Personality of Godhead, Who lives eternally within and without.

Separation from those near and dear is sometimes forced by circumstance - but separation can also be a divine source of needed introspection, contemplation, inspiration and ecstasy, when seen through the eyes of loving acceptance.

I live and write this blog, just a few miles from where Kobe Bryant lived with his family in Newport Beach, California. Its a couple of miles from here to the airport where he and his daughter, and 7 others with families and friends, lifted off into the sky, unexpectedly soon landing them in the eternal energetic realm, propelled by the waves of time.

Kobe's work ethic and accomplishments were legend; a dedicated warrior for excellence. He enjoyed serving his family, job, country with his talents, which were appreciated worldwide.

As a life-long LA area native and Laker fan, I could hardly imagine the sense of loss and emptiness his family and friends must feel. I went to one of the beaches in Newport today, where I got some slight symbolic sense of it. I saw the beauty of the beach on a clear winter day, but mostly empty. It was devoid of the joyful presence of summertime beach goers, who on a summer day might otherwise be enjoying the sun, swimming, making sandcastles, playing volleyball, surfing...

Kobe, being a hero-warrior of sorts to many, might have found comfort along with his family and friends, in the knowledge passed on to another warrior named Arjuna, described in the Bhagavad-Gita.

"For the soul there is never birth nor death. Nor, having once been, does he ever cease to be. He is unborn, eternal, ever-existing, undying and primeval. He is not slain when the body is slain.

The soul can never be cut into pieces by any weapon, nor can he be burned by fire, nor moistened by water, nor withered by the wind.

Never was there a time when I did not exist, nor you, nor all these kings; nor in the future shall any of us cease to be.

Know that which pervades the entire body is indestructible. No one is able to destroy the imperishable soul.

Getting closer to the shoreline, it was apparent that despite a recent family and community tragedy, the waves of time introduce other perspectives, and life does go on. Time prods everything on in one's own sphere of activities, as well as beyond the veil where our present senses normally don't penetrate.

Waves of time impact everyone, measured as hours, days, months, years, lifetimes. Time is continuous, like waves of the ocean, but we normally don't see such waves as markers of time passing which will lead to the destruction of our present physical body as time marches on.

Time also manifests the preparation of what comes next, after leaving one's earthly body. Time leads one on to eventually accept a new body of spirit or matter, of some type. Tomorrow's body is formed in the present, according to one's actions (karma) and desires. Such future bodies are determined and awarded by universal laws.

Time I Am..

Robert Oppenheimer also reflected on a verse in the Bhagavad-Gita in the process of developing and testing the first nuclear weapons, regarding destruction in the form of time and other forces.

"The Blessed Lord said: Time I am, destroyer of the worlds, and I have come to engage all people..."
Bg 11.32

Ancient Wisdom advises that just like the sun - continually radiating innumerable light particles as the energetic source sustaining life on earth - so God/Source energy sustains each soul particle eternally; during and beyond one's journey through space-time as we know it. Energy is never lost; it only changes form.

Giving up both religious and scientific dogma and gradually surrendering to one's Supreme Energetic Source in the heart, can also be part of a Mamba mentality; a focused effort to realize one's highest potential.

Such meditative focusing can be on one's loving relationship to God/Source - in a reciprocally loving service mentality performed in one's own energetic arena.

Seeing all life and matter as connected to God/Source, by God/Source can be the ultimate game-changer for all of us as players.

Certainly the eternal clock is patiently running and reminding us - Game On!

A cloud can cover the sun - but not for long!

We are accosted by trust-bait daily from various advertisements, promotions, and pitches offering keys to the promised land of lasting satisfaction.

Deciding who and what to trust and have faith in, is not always easy.

Sometimes we don't even trust or have faith in ourselves, having made a determination to go a certain direction, but mindlessly looping back into habitual unwanted patterns.

We all may be fallible beings - being subject to making mistakes, embracing illusions, having a tendency to cheat others as well as ourselves, and we are stuck with imperfect senses - just by nature.

We put our faith in other fallible soldiers outside of ourselves hoping for protection from loss and disappointment, but those presumed guardians can't give what they also don't have - which becomes apparent over time.

Although counterfeit goods and currencies exists, one need not conclude that the real deal can't be found. To find the Infallible, one needs to connect to, and place faith in, that which is eternal.

That still, genuine, timeless space is found when one seeks to connect to the all-pervasive spirit found within one's heart-space; that meditative place where faith and realization can grow.

To find, know and serve the Supreme Person, who is located within and also without, is the purpose of all religion/dharma/spirituality/yoga.

Such faith is not blind, but gradually built when one approaches the Infallible for shelter and ultimate satisfaction. People of informed faith universally find that unflinching trust can be truly cultured when finding the Supreme responds in the sphere of one's activities - in many unique ways.

God/Source, who is One and all-pervasive, is nevertheless a person who hears and feels our hearts. Our energetic Source is known by many names in many languages. One such name for the Supreme Lord in the Sanskrit language, is Acyuta, meaning The Infallible.

                                       Bhagavad Gita describes contacting The Infallible:

When one's intelligence, mind, faith and refuge are all fixed in the Supreme, then one becomes fully cleansed of misgivings through complete knowledge and thus proceeds straight on the path of liberation.

Such a liberated person is not attracted to material sense pleasure or external objects but is always in trance, enjoying the pleasure within. In this way the self-realized person enjoys unlimited happiness, for he concentrates on the Supreme.

Before giving up this present body, if one is able to tolerate the urges of the material senses and check the force of desire and anger, he is a yogī and is happy in this world.


One whose happiness is within, who is active within, who rejoices within and is illumined within, is actually the perfect mystic. He is liberated in the Supreme, and ultimately he attains the Supreme.

The sages, knowing Me as the ultimate purpose of all sacrifices and austerities, the Supreme Lord of all planets and demigods and the benefactor and well-wisher of all living entities, attain peace from the pangs of material miseries

In that joyous state, one is situated in boundless transcendental happiness and enjoys himself through transcendental senses. Established thus, one never departs from the truth, and upon gaining this he thinks there is no greater gain.

every individual is intimately connected with eternal truths which can experienced within and confirmed without.

Finding the origin of all truth, and acting in a relationship with that truth, is what separates human beings from animals. Without acting upon higher spiritual truths such as compassion service and love, the line between animal life and human life becomes seriously blurred, if not obliterated.

Such introspection, not much practiced or encouraged by modern education, fulls a void not satisfied by religious dogma, material acquisition, or inconclusive scientific speculation.

Ancient texts which answer these questions advise that  a cycle started 5,000 years ago on earth, wherein 3/4 of the general population virtually have no interest in such introspective topics. Modern media caters to the sleep-walking majority who are dreaming of consuming externals, mostly ignoring the internal landscape of spiritual truth, beauty; a reality which lies dormant, waiting to be consciously realized in one's heart.

The seeker’s journey is the same yet different; different levels of knowledge are revealed to the individual according to the level consciousness so far attained. Waking up spiritually an ongoing process as truth is eternal and unlimited, and realizations come in stages.

In this age, the highest truth is experienced and revealed by transcendent sound.  Such revelations processed in the heart and soul, supersede random facts collected by limited sense perception.

Presently each person’s spiritual senses, which can perceive and serve the Supreme Truth, are  temporarily covered over by materially based, false-ego driven desires, which obscure a broader, love-based reality.

When in a thick fog or in darkness, one cannot see clearly. If the sun rises and clears the fog and banishes darkness, one can see oneself plus the sun as the source of light, simultaneously.

The same holds true in the heart when the omnipresent God/Source lights up one's conscious vision of reality.

This understanding in the heart is a call to action to expand spiritually centered love, activated by sacred sound.

God or Source is known by many names, and has unlimited manifestations, both personal and universal. Hundreds of millions of people in India and elsewhere on earth, know Krishna as a name for Godhead which means the All-Attractive - the Source of all-attractive energies.

While on earth 5,000 years ago, Krishna spoke the Bhagavad Gita to His friend and disciple Arjuna.

"The Supreme Lord is situated in everyone's heart, O Arjuna, and is directing the wanderings of all living entities, who are seated as on a machine, made of the material energy.
(Bg 18.61)

O conqueror of wealth [Arjuna], there is no Truth superior to Me. Everything rests upon Me, as pearls are strung on a thread.
(Bg 7.7)


This material nature is working under My direction, O son of Kuntī (Arjuna), and it is producing all moving and non-moving beings. By its rule this manifestation is created and annihilated again and again.
(Bg 9.10)

To those who are constantly devoted and worship Me with love, I give the understanding by which they can come to Me.
(Bg 10.10)

Out of compassion for them, I, dwelling in their hearts, destroy with the shining lamp of knowledge the darkness born of ignorance.
(Bg 10.11)

And of all yogīs, he who always abides in Me with great faith, worshiping Me in transcendental loving service, is most intimately united with Me in yoga and is the highest of all."
