Here Comes The Sun
A Sun of God?

Are there any absolutes? Some feel that only relative truth exists - truths which only holds true for some people, or in some circumstances, but not absolutely-always.
But consider this as an absolute truth: Life on earth depends the sun - without the sun, life on earth could not exist. This is a truth of relationship rather than relativity, which may be seen as a universal symbol of all of life being dependent on an independent, energetic Source.

As our planet orbits the sun, our temperature and weather patterns are driven by the sun’s rays, which interact with earth’s oceans, land, and atmospheric levels. The earth’s oxygen-replenishing natural vegetation, is also sunlight dependent. The sun's gravity keeps the earth in a fixed, life-sustaining orbit, in the vastness of space. Even a slight variance of earth's orbit from the sun would be catastrophic to the earth's environment and life forms, what to speak of the earth ever drifting alone in space being cut off from the sun's life-enabling influence.

Some Albert Einstein quotes on religion and God:
- My religion consists of a humble admiration of the illimitable superior spirit who reveals himself in the slight details we are able to perceive with our frail and feeble mind.
- Science without religion is lame, religion without science is blind.
(A great list of Einstein's quotes can be found here.)

Over 5,000 years ago, the Vedic scriptural references described God as follows: God is the Absolute Truth; that from which everything emanates.
Another quote from Einstein:
"That deep emotional conviction of the presence of a superior reasoning power, which is revealed in the incomprehensible universe, forms my idea of God."
Although the creative potencies and superior reasoning power of God are described as being beyond our mind’s ability to fully comprehend, every religious scripture gives some revelation or information as to at least some of God’s qualities and attributes, such as God being the creator of life, the sun, moon and stars. Some scriptures advise seeing the sun as a visible representative of the Creator who sustains life and resides in each heart, in the same way billions of people can simultaneously and individually see and feel the sun on a clear day. The sun, like God, seems very far away, but can be felt very near as well. As the sun planet provides energies of both heat and light, God as a single source also emanates unlimited spiritual and material energies.

How and when the sun was formed, and specifically where the constituent components that make up the sun came from, is not something science can tell us with absolute certainty. A big bang requires ingredients, so we may humbly ask who or what created the original material ingredients required, for the theoretical big bang to take place?
There is nothing wrong with science, and nothing wrong with recognizing the limitations scientists face, even when using advanced equipment to increase knowledge gathering. Trying to analyze, theorize and accurately explain the entire universe by peering out from our earth which is hardly a particle of dust in the vastness of space, is not an easy task. Spiritual science contends that such a job is greatly impeded by the limitations of the material senses, but some understanding of the cosmos is possible when the Supreme Scientist is pleased to reveal both material and spiritual knowledge to a person by internal revelation from within the heart.
To question our origin, identity, plus alleviate sources of suffering is a quest shared by both science and spirituality. The task of individually solving the age-old puzzles of "who am I, where did I come from, and why am I discontent", still looms large for inquiring minds. So far, science has come up only with changing theories as to our origin, along with some relative breakthroughs to relieve material suffering temporarily. But scientific fixes also occasionally come with consequences that can be worse than the original problems. Scientific theory as to the origin of life is still far from conclusive. Science has not been able to completely stop disease or death, any more that it can completely understand or stop time itself.
The spiritual model looks more towards high thinking and simple living as opposed to high living and simple thinking. The idea that by exploiting and manipulating our natural environment we will solve all problems and provide lasting comfort hasn't worked so far, and doesn't seem promising; actually it's an empty promise. Practicing a spiritual model of life actually provides a permanent solution to all problems by ultimately freeing one from the cycle of material birth and death. By gradually gaining blissful spiritual awareness in this life, the next step is consciously entering the eternal spiritual realm at death when the material body hits it's expiry date, confident in one's loving and liberating relationship with God, the Absolute Truth.
